Real Madrid no longer allowed to fail in the Champions League. Los Blancos president, Florentino Perez reiterated that his team was aiming for the 10th title this season. After several previous season just stuck in the quarterfinals, Madrid successfully make progress by stepping up to the last four in the 2010-11 season despite finally stopped after surrender of Barcelona.
Madrid no longer tasted since the last European title in the 2001-02 season under coach Vicente Del Bosque. With a squad of more qualified and the thirst for title, Los Merengues are ready to finish the thirst that has been going for nine years.
"We have reached the semi-final (Champions League), something that has never happened since some time although this was not enough. We envision-10 title this season," said Perez in the club's general assembly session was quoted as saying by Marca.
"In the league, we've got pretty decent results, winning more points than the previous seasons where we were champions, improve record-a record that varies."
Madrid managed to win the fight first qualifying Group D by beating Dinamo Zagreb 1-0. Middle of next week, Cristiano Ronaldo et al. will return to continue their work with host Ajax Amsterdam, 27 September.
